A Life In Hospitality

Raised in hotels as the daughter of Frank Adam Rota, a career hotelman whose résumé spanned iconic properties from the Waldorf-Astoria to California resorts, Jennifer grew up in banquet halls, kitchens, and lobbies that became the backdrop of her childhood.

Those hotels and the people in them were individual schools of hospitality feeding a young girl’s insatiable hunger to step into her father’s footprints. An improbable career followed, and Jennifer achieved her own career goals by leaning on those lessons and being open to learn new ones at any chance. Ultimately her time in front desk, operations, food & beverage, sales, marketing, revenue and event management — led to the title of General Manager and beyond…building teams and memories for both staff and guests. While never forgetting the lessons of leadership, service, and humanity that hospitality teaches.

Jennifer shares her story through writing, speaking engagements, and interviews, drawing on decades of professional experience and a lifetime of inherited wisdom. With humor, reflection, and a deep respect for the industry, she speaks to audiences about legacy, resilience, and the enduring power of hospitality to shape lives and communities.

A photoshoot was scheduled when my father was promoted to Food & Beverage Director at the New York Hilton - 1969. The picture was damaged in a fire.
